Where the Memories Lie by Sibel Hodge

Where the Memories LieWhere the Memories Lie by Sibel Hodge
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sibel Hodge can really weave a believable story. I know we reviewers say a lot of Cliches but this really is a "cannot put down" book. It really gets under your skin and keeps your attention. The trouble was, each time I thought 'another chapter then bed' I got to the end and was saying this until dawn broke and I was so tired the next day. How can you get up and leave a film that your'e watching part way through?
Well, it was the same for this.

When someone suffers from Alzheimer’s, how do you know what they are saying has any weight behind it?
So when someone with Alzheimer’s says “It was an accident”, does that person refer to something now, the other day, last week, last year or is it all in their minds?

Tom is the one with Alzheimer's that is now in a home. His family go to visit him often.

This story is mostly told from Olivia's perspective, what is happening, what she thinks and what she feels.

She takes charge on many decisions, she has morals, she wants the truth, but just what IS the truth.

Katie left home over 25 years ago saying she was never coming back.
She had split from her boyfriend as they were young and he didn't want to settle down but she did.

There's a body and Tom knows where, he has Alzheimer's how would he know?
Can Olivia just walk away and take no notice?

She tells her husband who just do not want to believe it. Its not true, his father was a gentle kind man. He wouldn't harm a fly.
It can't be him.

Katie left a note, she's not dead, shes gone...shes in hiding she could have changed her name right?

Olivia cannot let it rest.

The rambling's of Tom haunt her and she has to do something, after all, how can she not.

This is a well thought out constructive plot that kept my attention all the way through without wavering one little bit.

I really love and enjoy the way this authors writes her stories, she is definitely on my top list of authors.

This isn't the only book I have read from this author and definitely won't be the last.
