The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty

The Husband's SecretThe Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have been after reading this book for some time, so managed to fit it in at last.

I found the start a bit slow, but it picked up quickly, as it unfolded it took my attention more and more. I think it was when she found the letter that was meant for her to read upon her husbands death......but he was very much alive.....that did it for me, from then, I was hooked.

I got frustrated when she told her husband over the phone that she had found the letter. I was shouting "open it, open it", it was ages before we got to know what was inside.

From then the suspense started, and my eagerness for 'finding out what came next' took over, I was turning page after page very quickly earlier on today like putting a movie on fast forward! I wanted to see where this would end.

Liane Moriarty had my attention, hours of reading took me to a place that many authors cannot take you, oblivion, nothing going on around you, can't see, no one speaking to you, can't hear, your entire being is in between those pages.

Thoroughly enjoyed my book today and this comes highly recommended.
From the author of the critically acclaimed What Alice Forgot comes a breakout new novel about the secrets husbands and wives keep from each other.

My Darling Cecilia
If you're reading this, then I've died . . .

Imagine your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret - something so terrible it would destroy not just the life you built together, but the lives of others too. Imagine, then, that you stumble across that letter while your husband is still very much alive . . .

Cecilia Fitzpatrick achieved it all - she's an incredibly successful business woman, a pillar of her small community and a devoted wife and mother. Her life is as orderly and spotless as her home. But that letter is about to change everything, and not just for her: Rachel and Tess barely know Cecilia - or each other - but they too are about to feel the earth-shattering repercussions of her husband's devastating secret
