The Fall and Rise of Lucy Charlton by Elizabeth Gill

The Fall and Rise of Lucy CharltonThe Fall and Rise of Lucy Charlton by Elizabeth Gill
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Set in a male dominated time, during the 1920's.

Lucy always dreamed of working alongside her Father in his business, however, something terrible happens and scandal breaks out. She is disowned by her Father who she completely adores.

Lucy has nowhere to go, she is left on the streets. At that time, it was worse than today, the history and research that the author has gone into have come out to light brilliantly in these pages. Which makes this fictional novel very believable.

A few hard years pass.

Lucy life gets tied up with a fellah named Joe. She volunteers to help him, however, there are serious consequences to BOTH of them.

How can I not like this story.

This was a good read, if you like books based around this era its a book for you.

I would like to thank Quercus Books for allowing me the pleasure of reading and reviewing this
