Promise It All by Emma Grayson

Promise It All (Blinded by Love, #2)Promise It All by Emma Grayson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After reading book 1 and liking it, I have to say, this is the ultimate, book 2 had me in tears, choked up.

Caleb is an addict. Addicts just think of themselves most of the time and their next fix.

Lennox is the one with her heart broken time and time again.

Caleb has upped and left her. He's also left her bringing up their son.

Its very easy for us to sit outside of a situation and judge and react saying:

1 Why does she keep taking him back?
2. Why be a doormat?
3. Why let him wipe his shoes on you time and time again? have you no respect for yourself.

I always wondered what was wrong with these women who stayed with partners like this. Habit? Love, or a false sense of the word love?

Or is it remembering what they CAN be live on the good times?

Whatever it is, I will not sit in judgement on someone else's life. No one walks in the same shoes and no one makes the same choices.
What we do is, be there for them when or if it falls apart.

Finally Lennox sees sense beyond her hope, her dreams and Caleb, she decides to move on.

But will she be able to?

Her child "Where is my Daddy"

She has family around her, physically around her as she lives with her parents. So she has practical help, alas, she still thinks of Caleb.

THEN at the end, I thought Caleb was going to come clean, I thought all the answers were going to be put in the pot so readers had answers to the mysteries behind Caleb, alas, not.

That then lost its point somehow for me as its book 2 and final part.

I'm left feeling empty. Left frustrated. Grrrrr

Caleb Kingston’s addiction got the best of him and he left everything important behind; including the one person he loved more than anything.

Lennox is left to fight through her heartache and pain as well as the crushing confusion she feels in the aftermath of Caleb’s departure. She finds it difficult to move forward because he didn’t just leave her behind, he also left their son, AJ.

Realizing Caleb will never leave the life of addiction behind and return to her and AJ, Lennox makes the painful choice to finally put Caleb and their love behind her. But when Caleb returns in a shocking and unexpected way, he changes her game plan and makes her question what she truly wants

Is this final?
