Motherlove by Thorne Moore

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by Thorne Moore.

When I was approached by Honno Publishers to become a reviewer for them in books that I thought I would enjoy reading, I didn't know what to expect, but it was surely an honor.

This book came my way and I was eager to start it.

MOTHERLOVE

Its all in the title.

For us that are Moms, we know we would give our life for our child/children. We would protect them to death.
Its said that there is nothing stronger than a Mothers Love for her offspring. I recognize that to be true in myself even though mine are grown now.

We meet three women in this book, each one a Mom.

Heather, she finds herself pregnant again and is none too happy although her husband seems to be fine.

Gillian unable to have children of her own and failed IVFS decides to dig deeper into adoption.

Lindy, a very young Mom who has a brute for a boyfriend. doesn't believe the baby is his, wants her rid of it. She is too far gone to have a termination so he suggests telling no one and just 'dumping it' when its born. He's a crook! Not long out of prison.
Nothing goes as planned.

We later see how one of them is persecuted by neighbors for having 'killed' her child. Nothing was ever proven.

We get Vicky, one of the now grown children being told she was adopted.

One of the Moms gets terribly ill and the daughter wants to find someone to make her better, for that, she needs to uncover some dark secrets.

I absolutely devoured this book. I started it one evening and finished it the very next day. It played on my mind when I was unable to finish reading it and needed sleep! but I picked it up the very next day as I couldn't rest until I read the ending.

It was a bit slow at the start, more me than the author, I had to piece all the Moms together and fix in my brain who was who and what was what. Once i did this, it moved along fantastically well.

Lovely book.

I her other book too, so will be reading that soon. Can't wait!

Thanks to Honno Publishers for my copy.
