Renaissance of the Heart by Lori M. Jones

Renaissance of the HeartRenaissance of the Heart by Lori M. Jones
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lori M Jones.

Keep a watch on this author, she really knows how to spin a good story.

I love how a book opens up when you start to read it and takes off right away. I hate struggling in a book, its hard slog then, and sometimes you want to start reading something with interest right away.

It opens with Amanda. Her husband after 15 years has left. Suitcase in hand and out the door. Not even when she was there to see it!

When he makes contact to meet, she really thinks he has had a change of heart. You can feel that in the way the author writes it. She's excited, worried and so insecure about it all that she rings her sister. I loved the conversation that went on between them both, in fact her sister is amazing and so funny, yet supportive.

When she meets up, he has something to tell her, she then realizes its not going to be good, but what comes out of his mouth for an explanation is really not what she was expecting. He was in love...................with JAKE!

We see how she digests this information in the days and weeks after his disclosure.
It knocked the stuffing out of her world to loose her husband but to a man!

She has to tell their daughter Lilly. I loved what Lilly said "I'm relieved that Dad has a good explanation for leaving and at least I will never have to deal with a stepmother" Loved that reply!

Moving on for Amanda is hard, trust, and fear of the future. When she meets a famous young NFL quarterback lead and things take off you see her insecurities.

It was lovely to watch Amanda grow though in confidence as time went on.

Its a great story, real to life. It happens, that's why this makes it a great read.

After her husband of fifteen years comes out of the closet, a blindsided, forty-year-old Amanda Lewis is forced to salvage what remains of her shattered heart and navigate a new life for herself and her teenage daughter. But will a sizzling secret romance with a famous young NFL quarterback lead her to winning the life she deserves or set her up for her biggest loss yet?

As she embarks on the journey of rebuilding her home, Amanda discovers that finding forgiveness and repairing her damaged self-worth are her biggest challenges of all. While searching her soul–and even searching inside her city's history–she finds answers. But will answers come too late and can a broken heart ever be truly fixed?
