This is the 2nd book in the series of Unmasking Paulie Bingham. After reading the first one, which I dearly loved, I wasn't sure what to expect from this one.
You know when you get authors who write series, its a bit like watching a 2nd film, never as good, so I went into this book feeling that I was going to be let down [meanwhile I'd had a tooth extraction and a filling all within 2 weeks which took me away from the book sometimes]

I stayed with it, feeling that it was:
1. Either going to keep repeating itself from the first book or
2. be a 'let down'

I can honestly say, It was not! The genre you may question over, what? a woman being in love with a gay man, what is she thinking?! or, this is not going to end good, WRONG on both counts. The author kept me guessing right to the end if they were going to be together or not. And if they did get together, would they marry or not? would the marriage survive if this was the case? how realistic is this book going to be.
VERY realistic. I just loved these characters in this book they became like friends to me. I know that sounds really strange, maybe its because a friend of mine many years ago also fell in love with a gay man that drew me to this book when the author invited me to read it for an honest review. If I didn't enjoy it, I would say so. This author is now one of my favorites. I need to get another book from her!

This book was given to me by the author for an honest review, you can get her first book on Amazon HERE This edition was an ARC and will be available soon.

Phils review

Omg what an absolutely fantastic book. This is my third book by Christine. As much as I loved all 3 this is my favourite.
There is so much more to this book than what the description said.Twice while reading this book I found myself putting down my kindle & thinking I can't read anymore. I was so involved with the characters I was afraid of what was going to happen next. After the second time I put my kindle down I txt my reading buddy Sue & told her what this book was doing to me. I've got a feeling she will be reading this soon.
Reading is my passion. I'm on lots of Facebook pages where they recommend books that put you through so many emotions. None I've read lately have done that to me until I read this book. Read it. You won't be disappointed.
I am so proud & privileged that this fantastic author allowed me to read this book in return for an honest review.
I've only one more book left to read of hers so I hope she is busy writing another fantastic read.

Sue's review on UNMASKING PAULIE BINGHAM book 1

The author gave me this book for me to read on Kindle for a fair exchange for a review.

I had a friend who fell in love with a gay man, they married. So I wasn't adverse to reading this novel. Then I realized that the author has a 2nd book in this series due out.

I didn't know really what to expect as its a subject matter that no one hears about every day do they? The author has handled the characters in this book beautifully. The emotion ride for both of them was so evident. I could feel the vibes coming out of the page with each one I turned.

To say I liked this book is an under statement, I LOVED this book.
Don't be put off by the unusual sense of the love story as its much more than it appears.

The cover is great, the flow of writing is easy to read, my one hate was that I couldn't sit down and just read it, I resented people interupting me.

This is a true and honest account of how I feel towards this story, and the author. I would defo read more by her.

Off to start the next one is this series!

Phils review

I don't normally read historical romances but I've changed my mind after reading this little gem.
This was so much more than a romance & I ended up reading the whole book in one sitting.
This book has piqued my interest in historical romances & ill certainly be looking to read more from this author soon.
I received this from the author in return for an honest review.

Phils review for good enough to share- Zara stoneley

This is such a hot erotic story.
This is about 4 damaged people & how they send Christmas/ new year. Such a nice storyline that wasn't rushed either. I'm looking forward to reading number 2 in this series.
I received this in return for an honest review.

Phils review: For the love of Katrina Bingham by Anne Carter

I so loved this book. It's a continuation of unmasking paulie Bingham which I also loved. One couldn't read the second without reading the first. This authors writing is addictive.
This story had such a fabulous storyline I just wanted to be left alone to sit & read.

I thankfully received this arc in return for an honest review. I so need to read more from this author. Highly recommended.

Phils review

I read this book without reading a synopsis & found myself surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Such an easy going book that I found I read it in a day. When I got to about 80% I was glued & really wanted to see how it ended!!!
With a little history & archaeology thrown in I found this book to be a very enjoyable read:)
I received this from author in return for an honest review.

Phils review of ROPING LOVE- Tamara Hoffa

Really enjoyed this sweet, short romantic book. Usually with short stories I am wishing for them to be longer & see the story expand more but Tamara ended this story just right:)
I received this in return for an honest review.

Phils review-LIFE OVER LOVE by Cheryl Seagraves

This was an emotional read due to the subject of abuse. Brianna went through a tough time with her drunk of a husband.
Unfortunately this story will be hard for some people to read as it will hit home to a lot of people.
Well done to the author on writing about such a hard subject. Hopefully this will be an inspiration to others that are going through the same torment!

Received this from author in return for an honest review!

Glenna Maynard.

I've managed to read this in just under a day. Nadine has a lovely way with words and making the characters become real.

Nadine Christian gave me this book as an ARC for a honest and open review, which this is.

I honestly loved it! I was hooked from the start, I just love it when a book opens to me right away and you get trapped in the storyline, that's what it did to me. I hear so many people say "I couldn't put this book down" and I'd think....yeah ok. BUT this book is a unput downable. I have to warn you, it teases you in, and it traps you, you can't get any sleep, you want to keep reading more, you can't get any chores done, so beware, give your house a once over, take the phone out the socket, put a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door, you won't be able to stop reading it.

This is not a hype for the book, this is MY honest review. I'm a fussy reader, if I can't get 'into' a book right away then I just know I may as well give up, its not the case with this one I can assure you. My emotions were all over the place.

I've found yet another fav author. Brilliant penmanship.
I know this is going to make me sound a bit flacky lol but I do like my covers for books. I've read seriously and by choice since the age of 16 [many moons ago now!] and always been attracted by the front cover before anything else. I'm not that empty headed that I don't look at the blurb of a book as well, but I'm talking initially, and Christine is one of the authors that brings the cover to your eyes, you just have to pick it up and see what's inside. I've read 2 of her novels now, and this read has made me realize, I am sure she things long and hard about the cover of the book, because it always seems to tie in with the story.

I'm not going to give too much away on this book, just that YOU HAVE TO READ IT!!! I'm connected the mental health sector because my husband has the illness called Bi Polar [used to be known as 'manic depression'] In this storyline, the main characters sister [unbeknown to her] was a sufferer.

A little child's involved.
Custody battle.

I loved it, I really LOVED it. I can't say enough about this book, Christine has a way of writing that for me, draws me into the read, into the pages that I hear nothing of what's going on around me. I got so focused inside this story, I was actually living in it, You know those type of films? you get so involved you are shouting at the TV screen? well, this is one of them, hankies at the ready, for sadness and glee.

Do you like reading a good book?
Do you only read authors you are familiar with?

SO DID I, but since having my Kindle I widened out a bit. Then I got to know Philomena, she has become my one of my best friends online, we have very similartastes in reads.

We have widened out, INDIE AUTHORS, please support them, there are thousands of brilliant authors out there, I have read just amazing books since learning what a INDIE AUTHOR is, I'm honoured to read books for them before they come out on Amazon, and what I would love everyone to do is support them, also, if you read a book, go and write a review, it so helps the authors and so helps people choose their next read,

I received this book today, its not published yet on Amazon, it was given to me from the author as an ARC, I just had to show it as I'm dying to read it, I adore the front cover of this book.

As soon as I've read it and as soon as I know its out, I'll be back here to keep you informed. Looks brilliant to me!
On the recommendation of my very good friend Philomena, I am going to start reading this one, I was given this as an ARC from the Author Nadine Christian, who has now become a friend on Facebook, she's a lovely humble woman.

My mate read her book and has said to me "hurry up Sue and read it, get your finger out" now what can I say to that!!! so, I am starting this book tonight. Looking forward to it as she and I have similar tastes in books.
The link for the book is here on Amazon

My friends review is there too! check it out

My next read, from Net Galley

I have decided to read this one next. I've had it from Net Galley from the publishers for weeks now, and I really must get around to reading it.

Joey Anderson’s great-grandmother, Sally Mae Anderson, touched many lives as Theodore Hamilton’s assistant. When Joey inherits her bed-and-breakfast, he wonders how he will fulfill her legacy.

Jason Stevens knows how Joey feels. Jason’s grandfather left him a similar inheritance years before—and his life has never been the same. The continuation of the Ultimate Gift series, The Gift of a Legacy reminds readers that one gift can change the world.

Jim Stovall is a sought-after speaker and the author of twenty books, including The Ultimate Gift, which has sold more than 3 million copies and been made into a major motion picture. Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Stovall has received the International Humanitarian Award and was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the President’s Committee on Equal Opportunity.
SECOND CHANCE GRILL Here are the Links for her books SECOND CHANCE GRILL What a fantastic read! I think I've found a brand new author for me. This book was so good. Easy to read, had some fun times in it, some really good things where you actually forgot where you were and in the same room at the characters in this story.

Single dad, mother walked out, brought up his daughter on his own, went through a very hard illness with her. That girl has spunk! I loved her, you couldn't help but love Blossom. The imagination with how the dad looked, well, I think of him as a very handsome chap!

Second chance grill.....wonder why the book was called that? read it, find out, the author has given a lot of thought to this title I can see where she is coming from with it.

Who ran the Second Chance Grill? Well it was Mary. How did she get to run it? read it to find out. It wasn't her ambition to be the owner, why did she end up running this place, and would see go back to where she came from?

It was at 88% through of reading this book that I ended up with a lump in my throat. I gulped, took a minute to digest what was going on. Because it wasn't expected at that point, at least not by me.

I loved the front cover too, fresh, interesting, and alive, just like the story it holds inside this cover.

Thank you Christine for a wonderful read, it was a pleasure.

*I received this book from the author with thanks as a chance to read and review it, I actually asked her! and she said "YES" woooo, loved it.

This is the book I've chosen to read next. By Christine Nolfi, I am also lucky to have another one of her books to read too.

I'm a 1/4 of the way through it, its all coming together nicely. If I can get into a book by at least the first chapter, its a good 'un' .

Here are the Links for her books SECOND CHANCE GRILL

Christine's up and coming new book will be out at any time soon this month

Wednesday, 12 June 2013

Let me start off by saying, thank you Susanne for allowing me to read your latest book before it was released, it was an honor and a pleasure. I love the way you write, I just knew I would enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed your last one.

I didn't realize how much I would enjoy reading this story. The cover portrays it all. The building was just as I imagined it to be.

A love a book with a good cover, I may sound shallow, but its the first thing I look at before anything else.

Let me say readers, its not just about a house, its not just about a run down property that was left for Megan to inherit, its much, much more than this. The story starts with the inheritance, however, things are not what they seem. I loved the twists and turns in this storyline. Megan had take on a lot, I really didn't think she would make a go of taking on this run down property.

I  liked the character of the first female friend she made, the way she spoke and her mannerisms really had me laughing at times imagining her.

The two prominent males in Megan's life were very strong character which led me to wonder just who would win out and if there was more to them than met the eye. As the story opened more I could see that I was going to learn a lot more about them! The ending for me what not as predictable as I thought.

This novel should be released on Amazon very soon, I do urge you to read it, this is an author who you shouldn't miss out on. I'm so thankful to my friend Philemena for pointing me towards Susanne O'Leary's books, the first one I read was Finding Margo. So when I saw Susanne on a book review page I just had to ask her if I could read this. I was over the moon when she said "Yes"

Kate, Simone, Tom, Clare and Jack have little in common except the shared experience of holidaying at a century old beach house in the small coastal town of Sunset Point, Queensland. At different points in their lives they found their way there and had an experience that changed them forever.

Now the future of the house is in doubt and they are all passionate about saving it. In sharing their stories with young journalist Jessica - who is reluctantly drafted into showing the human interest angle in what promises to be a bitter court battle - each is reminded just what a special a place it is.

I have just received this awesome book from the publishers. Its a book I've been waiting to get, so I am a happy bunny today.
Written by Katie Ganshert

Here is some of the blurb:
Does a second chance at life and love always involve surrender?
A three-year old son, a struggling café, and fading memories are all Robin Price has left of her late husband. As the proud owner of Willow Tree Café in small town Peaks, Iowa,  she pours her heart into every muffin she bakes and espresso she pulls, thankful for the sense of purpose and community the work provides.
So when developer Ian McKay shows up in Peaks with plans to build condos where her café and a vital town ministry are located, she isn’t about to let go without a fight.
As stubborn as he is handsome, Ian won’t give up easily. His family’s business depends on his success in Peaks. But as Ian pushes to seal the deal, he wonders if he has met his match. Robin’s gracious spirit threatens to undo his resolve, especially when he discovers the beautiful widow harbors a grief that resonates with his own.
With polarized opinions forming all over town, business becomes unavoidably personal and Robin and Ian must decide whether to cling to the familiar or surrender their plans to the God of Second Chances
My next read:

This is the 3rd in line on my TBR list and can't wait

This one is now on my TBR list, you can purchase this HERE

I have just finished reading this book. I made the mistake of reading a review, it wasn't very pleasant to read about this book, in fact, I didn't agree with the persons review at all. I found the book enjoyable, easy to read, it paced along quite nicely. Of course its a romance/love story book.

I thought the author CLARISSA CARLYLE brought the characters together very well, I was drawn in along with their lives and events though out the book. I wanted to shout at Amy for getting involved too quickly with the Hollywood stud, but the more that came to light about him, he grew on me, I could then see who Amy enjoyed not only his looks but his company.

Well written, well rounded read.
You can purchase this book from Amazon HERE

I was given this book by the author, well, I requested it on a site :)

I've never read such a book with this kind of lay out before, it was kinda interesting. At first, I was totally confused as there were so many peoples accounts. I put it down to my old age and plodded on LOL

I found it quite depressing in the start, let me say, AT THE START, once I got 'into' it and realized how this was panning out with each person from each chapter I was taken more and more into the reading of these accounts.

I found it thought provoking, and unusual. The storyline was good, no, the storyline was GREAT, but it did take me a while to sort things out in my head.

Once I did, I was well and truly gripped into this novel, its depressing, it can be uplifting, it can be sad, very sad, then it has its sense of humour inside the accounts too. I did like the book, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I found it confusing in the beginning and had to keep back tracking over myself for each person that was telling the story

You can purchase this book HERE

JENNIE MARTS, new to me, but won't be anymore!

When I approached the author in a group where authors ask for people to review their books, I saw this one. What drew me what the cover of this book, its very eye catching. My second thought was, that it looks a bit like a chic lit book/choc lit and I don't often read them.

So, I read inside the preview and thought I'd give it a read. I can honestly say that I LOVED this book. It had me laughing out loud in some places. Oh Don't be mistaken, its not a usual love story, there is mystery, possible and potential murder, even some women calling themselves Miss Marpels! it was very good and very serious in parts too. Of course there is one major person [Sunny] who takes the female limelight, and Jake is the man that keeps you wondering, did he or didn't he. Is he or isn't he. I would urge you to read this, its a first in this kind of genre for me, and if others are like this, then I'm hooked.
